What dat? "Middle of a road?" Hold on, feeling ignorant now.... Searching....

    MOAR Coffee

Think I'm missing something. Might need more (M O R E) coffee now.
Recently bought some Fairway beans, used to love my own blend.
But next to Fairway (West Side) is Citarella's, and only this year I discovered I really like their House Blend. Usually I drink Hawaiian (Kona and Molokai) these days, and switch it off with Citarella or another locally roasted brand (Tim's?).

MOAR just a webism for MORE

There's a Citarella on the East Side too, but it's out of my way. Fairway is closer.

I had a friend in Brooklyn who lived down the street from a place that roasted their own coffee. SOOOOOO good.

Coool.... thanks. Thought I knew my Fairway coffees. From searching images and links, seems theres' a whole lot of merch surrounding "MOAR" and coffee too. But thought I'd missed some famous skit or tv/movie meme (maybe I have) .

You know Fairway is now A&P, right? (They gobbled up a bunch of struggling stores early COVID-time.)

Lastly for now, as I sip on the coffee I just poured.... I could not find a bag from the local roaster (though I think it's Timothy's, could be wrong, and that's a big Canadian roaster). Found an article about some closing/bankrupt popular roaster in Brooklyn (Brooklyn is in the name, Roaster or Coffee) and this too; seems like Brooklyn has its share of not only retail coffee houses but roasters too:

Anyway, I'm sure there are many importers and coffee houses, but it's surprising to me how many roasters there are here - or were. One on 79th St between RSD and WEA too (Manhattan). No shortage. @Jodi K - I don't doubt they're still all around but not one on the UWS, and I've not seen a D'ags or Food Emporium in at least 10 years. I guess don't visit the right places! Oh well. Food Emporium disappeared from the UWS in the 90's... 00's, a huge store on Broadway, 60's. (Think that was bought by A&P or another of the biggies.). Gristedes I've seen one in Chelsea. The only thing in common with these was high prices, at least Gristedes had a rep for that. Now it's TJ's, Fairway, Whole Foods or some smaller stores all bought out now by ShopRite.

heh... I can relate... doing much the same, between PsychoBowl (actual game, and mostly for the ads) and relaxing a bit. Just had another coffee, mmm.

You watch the "true crime" stories like "Frontline" (is it?), or whatever, those weekend shows which replace "news" on cable (CNN/MSNBC mostly, go from global crimes to unsolved crimes on weekends)? I end up watching/hearing some of the shows mostly by accident, but some draw me in. Always loved mysteries and especially the psychology as well as the detective work. Worked with some of the more gruesome crime victims and perps for a bit... and watched a whole Presidency parade similarly or worse-functioning psychopaths in the WH and Congress in years since. Happy Sunday!

I really enjoyed Falk as Columbo and in the movies too, great actor, persona.

Weird but I came across - the past few days - both the first episode of "Lost in Space" (actually interesting as they think about a future of colonized planets), and the uber-classic "To Serve Man" on Twilight Zone. Both courtesy of my friendly MeTV.

I watched all the on-demand Columbo listed during 20-21, including one or two 'extras' I think, but for sure the first official episode. Interesting to me, as I season hopped (trying to stay in order), how the first few seasons there was a flood of celebrity actors - and directors - and how young Falk looked (and was). Over the years he got more involved in the production, sort of parallel to Rod Serling.

I have. And yes, it is.

"Wings of Desire" was a movie which cemented my respect for him as a dramatic/theatrical as well as detective actor. And comedic too, true.
Well, he always had a wry sense of humor. And quite a range beyond Columbo.

Might be a good time for a book.

It's overtime for me. I can't seem to sit and read a book lately, though. It's been over a month or so now since I read anything. I have SO many good books to read on my Nook right now, too. I really need to get on it.

Funny you mention that initial episode of Lost In Space. I just watched it late last night. I hadn't seen it in ages and ages.

Speaking of Falk and Rod Serling... there was an episode of Twilight Zone where Falk did an excellent job of portraying a revolutionary leader in a small Central-American nation. It was obvious enough that the character was a spoof on Fidel Castro, but that aside, Falk did a helluva job with that part.

This one here... watch it, if you get the chance one day:

That's the whole premise, and why it was absurdly funny to anyone familiar with (but not sensitive to parody of) OCD.

Not going to compare depth of familiarity with OCD, but I will say, what I said to a loved one complaining about a family member, that (compared with say, a coma or Alzheimer's) to put it in a positive light, "OCD is the sign of an active mind".

I never watched Monk when it was new, and I think I was in grad school studying psychology or in an early job in a psych ward. Everybody said "you MUST see Monk!". Eventually I did and loved it. But I can imagine others either wouldn't like the "schtick" or would be offended by being a constant butt of jokes. But done lovingly! With wipes.

Sorry I missed bits of "live" back & forth - been busy with things keeping me from more frequent check-ins. Realizing it's late now for most as I'm finally done with "things to do". (Watched only a bit of the commercial game, congrats Rams.)

@V. T. Eric Layton You're really tuned into a lot of "golden era" vintage stuff, said after seeing your sci-fi graphics in response to some years-old Morbius post, as he pings & pongs across pods.

I hear you on book focus, BTW. I was admiring how you were seemingly poring through books a bit back while I was so far from that joy of total immersion in a good book. When I'm in it, I feel a deep loss and craving for more when I'm done with that world. And other times I have a dread of just starting - a time commitment when I'm already chasing the clock. Took me years to re-enjoy reading after so many years of academic textbooks too. Pavlovian association.

Seriously, you just watched that too? Synchronicity!

I'd watched but a few oldie LIS episodes during pandemic late-nites, some I found too square to be hip, other times the robot cracks me up responding to Smith. But I don't think I EVER saw the original episode (pilot) with all the count-down tension and the details of Smith's stowaway and near-miss. Vaguely...

Holy @*#! That was Falk? Awesome. I just saw that episode very recently too and was struck by how cute-but-crazy dictator had a sort of charisma. I wasn't even aware that was Falk! (If I miss the program guide and don't take care, as I usually do, to stay past the final scene and ads, for the credits. A whole long list of super-stars on Twilight Zone, from Shatner on the gremlin plane to young Bill Mumy.
Again, same with Columbo, some great cameo roles, including killer Johnny Cash

@Jodi K Yes he rumpled with age, and also talked more about his wife.
(in character). Wonder if you saw Wings of Desire in which he was much older, more mature as actor and human - and still wore a rumpled raincoat.
